Coffea Arabica

$45.00

This botanical watercolor painting gracefully illustrates the beauty of Coffea Arabica, a plant native to Ethiopia which now grows and is cultivated in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia and China and is responsible for 60% of global coffee production. Now rare to its original homeland, Coffea Arabica points up the threat to the genetic integrity of wild coffee plants: Nearly all cultivated coffee plants today originated with just a few plants from Ethiopia, and contain less than 1% of the genetic diversity this rich plant species once held.

Coffea Arabica is an 11x14 giclée print, created on archival cotton rag, a flat fine art quality paper, printed with professional fine art quality inks, and hand-cut in studio.

The earthy greens and golden hues within the winding leaves and stem create an elegant scientific study. “Coffea Arabica” is part of my collection WILD, a series of watercolor botanical illustrations inspired by Terry Tempest William's words "To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from."

PRINTED TO ORDER. All giclée prints are created by a local print shop at the time of your order. Please allow 2 weeks processing time.
